This heavy duty brake lathe skims and trues truck and bus discs, drums and flywheels. It is built for the larger diameters and tougher duty cycles that commercial workshops handle daily, where a light duty machine would struggle or chatter.
A heavy duty brake lathe for commercial workshops
Skimming restores a clean, true braking surface and extends the life of an expensive component. On heavy vehicles that matters even more, because drums and flywheels are costly and often have long lead times. A workshop offering a skimming service turns that into steady revenue.
Handles:
- Truck and bus brake drums
- Commercial vehicle brake discs
- Flywheels for heavy duty clutch rebuilds
- Agricultural and off-road machinery components
- Industrial braking components

Frequently asked questions
When should a drum be replaced rather than skimmed?
Every drum has a maximum diameter cast into it. Once skimming would take it past that limit, or if there is heat cracking or hard spots, it must be replaced.
Do you supply training with the machine?
Yes. KBC provides in-house training with its remanufacturing machinery.
